Brent Davidson, J.D.

DIRECTOR -- PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

Brent Davidson is ISBI's Director of Program Development and the Institute's lead coordinator for all activity in Washington, DC.  He was formerly Deputy to ISBI President, Barry Kellman, as well as the Administrative Director of the International Weapons Control Center at the DePaul University College of Law.

Prior to becoming a full-time member of ISBI, Brent was involved with the Institute and its issues as a law student and research assistant at the DePaul University College of Law.  In those roles, he contributed to reports for the Department of Homeland Security and the Partnership for a Secure America, and completed a Senior Research Seminar on the topic of dual-use biological research of concern.

As a law student, Brent was twice elected to the Executive Board of the International Law Society, and was selected to be a member of both the Business and Commercial Law Journal and DePaul’s inaugural International Commercial Arbitration Team.  Brent graduated cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Global Studies.

Zachary Clopton, J.D.

SENIOR FELLOW

Zachary Clopton was a founding Senior Fellow at the International Security & Biopolicy Institute in 2009.  He worked on various ISBI initiatives including reports for the Department of Homeland Security and the House Foreign Affairs Committee.  

Prior to joining ISBI, Zachary was an attorney in the National Security group at the law firm Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr in Washington, D.C.  At Wilmer Hale, Zachary helped clients interface with various arms of the United States government with respect to national security and defense matters.  He assisted on internal investigations, CFIUS filing, investment and regulatory advice, and various litigations.

Zachary graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2007, after completing master’s degree in International Relations at Cambridge University as a Gates Scholar where he focused on overlapping legal and political considerations in war crimes prosecutions. Zachary is a graduate of Yale University with a degree in History and Political Science.
